Coming from a fairly wealthy family, he's an only child to his Veena mother and Rava father. His mother, Reina Paharo, is a professor at the Studium. Amari's father, Indri Eryut, holds a seat in the Sharlayan forum and oversees Sharlayan's agricultural advancements. They have a house located on the lower half of Journey's End.
Amari spent most of his youth alone with his housemaid Hikari, where she also served as his teacher for a lot of things his parents could not attend to. Hikari essentially became Amari's mother, all but in blood. Amari's parents are extremely absent in his life, with his father Indri being borderline verbally abusive. Indri demanded Amari look, act, and behave a certain way that reflected the status of their family and would be reprimanded if he acted out of line. This often caused the child to be alone, unable to play with other kids his age, stunting his social growth. Hikari would work with Amari on his behaviors and emotions to assure the boy wouldn't grow up to be a complete outcast amongst his peers.
He enrolled into the Studium for his education where he studied Old Sharlayan maritime trade. Shortly after finishing his education, Amari was then hired to assist in transporting goods for Sharlayan. This is where he started to develop professional relationships with gleaners, but one green-haired Viera gleaner in particular caught his eye...
